Rhassoul Clay / Ghassoul Clay

Rhassoul clay is gentle and doesn’t dry the skin excessively like some of the other clays. It can be used by people with sensitive skin. It is gentle enough to be used daily.

How does Rhassoul Clay work?

Because of its mineral composition, Rhassoul Clay helps to nourish the skin. It’s molecular structure also allows it to absorb oils from the skin as well as impurities and toxins.

What does Rhassoul Clay Do?

  • Refines skin and improves skin texture
  • Gently moisturises skin
  • Gently exfoliates
  • Firms the skin and improves elasticity
  • Removes impurities
  • Treats blemishes and acne

How To Use It

      1. Exfoliating: Rhassoul Clay is very fine but slightly abrasive so it gently removes dead skin cells and leaves the skin glowing.
        For the face: Mix 1 tablespoon Rhassoul clay with 2 tablespoons grapeseed oil, 4 drops orange essential oil to form a paste. Apply it to the skin and gently scrub in circular motions. Rinse with warm water and pat dry.

        For the body: Combine a 1/4 cup of Rhassoul Clay with a 1/4 cup of Epsom Salts as well as 10 drops of orange essential oil. Scrub your body starting at the feet and working towards your heart. Leave it on for a few minutes. Rinse in a shower with warm water and then a blast of cold.
      2. Pore Cleansing: Rhassoul Clay attracts impurities and toxins as well as excess oil.
        Mix 2 tablespoons of Rhassoul clay with 1/2 a cup of oatmeal and 3 drops lavender essential oil. Add a little warm water to form a paste. Allow the mixture to sit for a few minutes to allow the oatmeal soften slightly. Apply it to your skin in gentle circular motions. Leave the mixture on your skin for 15 minutes then rinse with warm water.
      3. Absorbs Oil: Rhassoul Clay absorbs excess oil and sebum which prevents spots and acne.
        Mix 1 tablespoon Rhassoul Clay with enough water to make a paste and 1 drop tea tree oil. Apply it to the skin and leave on to dry for 15 minutes. Remove with lukewarm water.
      4. Smoothes Rough Skin: Fine texture helps to gently exfoliate rough elbows, knees and heels.
        Mix 1/4 cup of Rhassoul clay with 2 tablespoons yoghurt. Apply it to rough patches and scrub in circular motions. Rinse with warm water.
      5. Pore Tightening: Rhassoul clay softens and tightens skin. It has astringent properties.
        Combine 1 tablespoon Rhassoul Clay with two drops tea tree oil, 1 teaspoon turmeric powder and enough water to make a paste. You can also use rose water. Apply the mixture to your skin and leave on until almost dry. Rinse away with warm and then cool water.

      6. Detox Bath: Rhassoul clay attracts and absorbs heavy metals, toxins and impurities.
        To detox, add the following to a running bath: 1 cup Rhassoul clay, 10 drops peppermint essential oil and 10 drops lemon essential oil. Soak in the bath for 15 to 20 minutes.
      7. Soothes Irritation: Rhassoul clay has anti-inflammatory properties that soothe irritation.
        Mix together 2 teaspoons Rhassoul Clay, enough thick coconut milk to form a paste, 5 drops rose essential oil. Apply the mixture to damp skin and leave to dry for 10 minutes. Don’t allow the mixture to dry entirely and irritate your skin.
