Evening primrose oil for healthy skin, hair and hormones

Evening primrose oil has been used since ancient times to heal wounds, treat mood disorders and menstrual issues. It is also used to help with the symptoms associated with menopause such as hot flashes.

Native to England, North America and certain parts of Europe, Evening primrose flowers bloom at dusk or in cloudy conditions. They are small bright yellow flowers. The oil derived from the seeds is thick and golden in colour. It absorbs slowly and forms a moisturising barrier.

Evening Primrose oil is a lifesaver if you struggle with mood swings before your period. I use it because it controls the hormonal acne I always get before a period as well as the bloating and other miseries associated with “that time of the month”.

My nails are also brittle because I have an underactive thyroid and the nail treatment definitely helps to keep them from peeling and splitting.

Happy hormones!

Lots and lots of love!
